Ascent Trip Report

This was my second highpoint and was the first of three on a weekend journey. Kiki flew out of town for a bridal shower to Annapolis, MD and I dropped her off at the airport in RI. From there I drove up to Conroe, NH and spent the night in a Holiday Inn Express hotel. The next morning, I got on the trail at around 6AM. I took the Tuckerman’s Ravine trail up to the top – it took me 4.5 hours. I was met at the top with beautiful weather and a slight chill in the air – even for July. Since the mountain can also be driven, many families looked at me as I was sweat drenched from my strenuous hike; I dried out and then came back down the mountain via Lion’s Head trail – by this time there were a lot more hikers on the trail, good thing I was heading down. I saw snow on the mountainside during my descent and it surprised me for July. Great views and great pics.
