Ascent Trip Reportfirst snowshoe & gear test of winter. snowshoes ok; pack & snowpants probably need to be replaced. Delilah's pack still won't sit straight and may need to be replaced as well. Took a bit to get back into practice with the snowshoes; spent some time with my butt in the snow. Very limited view from the cabin area; baffled that this is a 52WAV peak. Apparently there's a great view from the summit of South Doublehead but, given the time/daylight/energy shortage, we headed back the way we came. Delilah seemed unfazed by the 12-18" of snow that brushed her belly, though she spent awhile licking her paws once back in the car. The only real kink in the day was when we ran into the only other people on the trail - 2 skiers who were more than tolerant of the growling, barking dog who tried to rush them.
