Ascent Trip ReportStarted hike from Big Creek campground/trail head to Walnut Bottom, Campsite 37 (5.1 miles). Then, on to Gunter Fork looping left to follow Sterling Ridge to Campsite 38 (fire tower). Then, descended Baxter Creek Trail.
* Make sure to replenish water supply somewhere between Laurel Gap and Pretty Hollow Gap; otherwise at the end of the day when you are exhausted you will have to hike .25 mi down Baxter Creek Trail for water. No significant water source between Pretty Hollow Gap and summit.
