Ascent Trip Report

Hiked this one on a very hot day for early May (86 and humid) - and the Black Flies were out just to add to the fun! The hike however was great even with the heat and bugs. We started out from the Beaver Pond Rd TH under blue skies and enjoyed the 3.6 mile light topo walk along the old logging road through the marsh and to the edge of Pharaoh Lake. From here we crossed the bridge and began the 3.2 mile trek to the summit which ended up being 4 miles for us with some side exploring we did. The majority of this is slog the waters edge and a lowland trail with only the last 1.4 miles or so having any real gain including a few small scrambles. The woods were beautiful and the hike was very relaxing with three summits to enjoy various views at the top. Great day in the woods.
