Ascent Trip Report

All public land. Came at in from Randle. 25 to 76 to 77. 77 meets the road going to Burley Mtn near Greenhorn Buttes and any car can get to this point. From here the road is somewhat eroded. It gets progressively worse as you go South. I think that with a car you could maybe get to the Pole Patch area. The last mile, maybe 2 miles will require probably an Outback type car unless you are pretty comfortable with heavily rutted roads. I dont think you need 4WD at all in dry conditions but there are some serious ruts. I didn't try to drive the final summit road as this would require at least 4WD and is marginal anyway. I just walked it to the top where the forest is growing back. High ground appears to be by a large tree at the far end of clearing, more or less. A nice view of Rainier just a bit before you get to the top.
