Ascent Trip Report

The crux of this hike is the drive. I got to the road to the trailhead by taking the "shortcut" via the radio facility. While the road to the facility from US 6 is pretty good (a passenger car could do it), the road from there to the road to the trailhead was challenging. The road to the trailhead was decent from the junction with the radio facility road until it started going uphill at just above 6600'. From there it was so bad, initially I thought I would walk from there. I managed to drive to about 7000', where I thought I saw a route on the the topo map that would be a decent approach. It worked like a charm and the route we took was very enjoyable.
