Ascent Trip ReportAttained first ever US state highpoint after walking a short distance from where I parked my car - maybe a few hundred yards. I did hike a few miles south on the AT in the easrly morning, as I had to wait for the park to open and I had arrived at sunrise. The monument was neat and the views were nice. There were only a handful of others visiting on this early spring day.
