Ascent Trip Report

Plenty of snow for snowshoeing on a (mostly) marked and trodden trail. Traversing the steep southern slopes of the Habrütispitz was slightly tricky and possibly not entirely avalanche safe in retrospect although they are relatively rare at this modest altitude. Bitterly cold all day around -7 or -8C with a biting wind from the NE (from which I was thankfully mostly sheltered. The humidity from the persisent mist sucked away body heat from any part exposed. The restaurant at Chrüzegg was open and served me some delicious and warming Gerstensuppe (Barley soup). Much slower than expected due to quite deep snow, I left the final peak Höchhand for next time.
