Ascent Trip Report

Did Black Butte along with Anthony's Peak. Did Anthony's Peak first, and then headed back to get Black Butte. We drove FH7 back towards willow. There was no sign for the turn-off to Black Butte. Luckily, we had Google maps and could see the turn-off. The road was in OK shape, but very bumpy and a few small patches of snow and ice. We made it as far as we could in the SUV, but then parked when the road got too steep. We got out and started walking. We found the trail, which was in decent shape. There were some patches of snow, but no issues. The kids, Cole(8) and Kyle(5) had a great time hiking up the trail. This was the highest they have ever been! Made it to the top, took a few pictures, and had a snack. Headed back down and the kids played in the snow a bit and then headed out. Great day, but long drive for a short hike!
