Ascent Trip Report

This climb completes my quest for the "ADK/Catskill Fire Tower Challenge" and to my surprise the only mountain with a Wind Mill on its summit. The bottom on the Fire Tower is all enclosed, fenced-in and topped with huge Solar Panels. The small summit is somewhat congested, they must be experimenting with Wind and Solar Energy. Just below the summit is a memorial wooden plaque in honor of "Warren J Webster Jr". I would have cherished a photo of the windmill but unfortunately I forgot my camera.

I came here with limited TH location "S of Ticonderoga, on the road to Huletts Landing". I couldn't find it after driving all the way to Huletts landing so I knocked on a number of doors before finally finding someone home. The nice lady answering "of course I know, I've climbed it a number of times".

Directions to the TH from the North.
From Ticonderoga's North end at junction of rte 74 & 22, drive South on rte 22 towards Whitehall. At 19.2 miles turn right on the road to Huletts Landing on Lake George, drive 2.6 miles and turn left on Pike Brook Road, the TH and parking is on the right at .8 miles.
The typical ADK trail is easy to moderate except for the last half mile where its moderately steep.
