Ascent Trip Report

3rd trip to Mt. Whitney. Kevin and I took a last minute trip to hike Mt. Whitney after he spent the summer working in DC for a Congressman. We got an overnight permit and just missed a 3 day storm that kept most of the hikers off the top ridge lines with the high winds.

We hiked to Outpost Camp, 3.8 miles and 2000' elevation gain and spent the night. Got up early to hike to Whitney, summited and hiked back down to Whitney Portal.

We had a beautiful day hiking the trial.
