Ascent Trip Report

First stop on "southwest trifecta" trip. Bob an I drove from CO Springs to Black Mesa, summit, then outran a storm and stayed close to Amarillo, TX. toured Palo Duro Canyon park on the way thru Roswell and then toured Carlsbad Caverns, to get to Guadalupe Peak TX campground. Early morning start and made summit, and bushwack to El Cap... then drove north to Taos, NM to find campsite close to trailhead for Wheeler Peak. Attempted the next morning, but turned back only about 500 ft from summit due to weather. Drive back to springs around 3 pm!
