Ascent Trip ReportWhile on a 2 week holiday to Rio we did what all tourists do, visit Corcovado. We left home on January 8th and got home on January 22nd. We stayed at the Hotel California on the Copacabana Beach.
This morning we were picked up at our Hotel by Regina of Gray Line Bus Line who drove us to the Trolley Station for Corcovado, after a long wait due to crowds we took the 20 minute ride to the top station. With the rest of the crowd we climbed the stairs to the top and the amazing Corcovado. You have to be next to it to appreciate the size of this monument, its huge. The panorama is something we don't get to see too often .... beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful site in the world. Unfortunately visibility wasn't the best on this day. We spent a good hour on top.
On the descent we got off the trolley half-way down and hopped a bus to the Terjuca Forest where we visited the Cascatinha Falls ..... spring mineral water recovered/used by Brahma for their beer.
