Ascent Trip Report

This ascent was the third peak of the dayhike. Starting from the intersestion of the AT and Race Brook Falls Trail, we ascended Mt Everett. After initially descending to and crossing some headwaters for Race Brook (might have been the brook itself, but very small at this point), the trail ascends steeply. This is actually very nice, since you achieve elevation in the shortest possible time. The rock provided excellent footing (very good coming down!). When we reached the viewpoint, we saw we were already above the elevation of Mt Race. From there it was a more moderate climb to the summit. Lots of parents with kids in backpacks, and dogs! Fortunately, all were well-behaved!
