Ascent Trip ReportMy wife and I parked at the observation center at 6,000 and decided to take a crack at the most distant of the high peaks. Our plan was a fast and light approach, and it worked. We followed a trail up the side, and it got progressively colder. This trip was like hiking on the moon, with craters everywhere! At about 12,500, we found the most amazing mountain lake, watered up, and made our way to the true summit. Once there, it was interesting to see that there was a prayer alter of some sort on top. We paid our respects, had a very late lunch amd prepared to walk down. As it turned out, we were offered a ride down at the service road and accepted - very comfy!
