Ascent Trip Report

We intended to take the Sunset Ridge Trail topside, but instead opted for the CCC road across to the Maple Ridge Trail. It had been while since I went up that route, and I didn't remember the technical aspects of the route. Once we topped out in complete clouds and high winds, we moved over to the nose where we suffered through a very damp, cloudy, windy and noisy (power generator of an industrial antenna) stealth bivy. Next morning, we arose to more dampness and cloudcover, and ran the length of th ridge to the Chin. Beautiful! After a few minutes in wind and clouds, we decended via the Sunset Ridge Trail, and completed Vermont's highest peak for the 20th time.
