Ascent Trip Report

I accessed the Menagerie Wilderness from Hwy 20. I turned on Moose Creek Road (FR 2027 and then took a right after crossing the bridge over the creek. In about 5.6 miles I took the right fork and in another 1.5 miles I came to an active logging site that I managed to get through without getting run over. About 10 miles from Hwy 20 forest road 850 is on the right and the gate was open, however there is a sign that says the areas is closed to ALL traffic including foot traffic Jan 15- July 31 every year. I drove up this road about .5 mile to a trailhead sign at on abandoned road on the right.

The hike is up this abandoned road less than .25 mile until the wilderness high point was off to my right. I then found my way through the old growth forest to the high point. There is a "Wilderness" sign on the summit. Caution, there is no Hang Gliding permitted in the wilderness.... Pretty area, but no views.
