Ascent Trip Report

Finally done with 3500 requirements. Was raining driving up to trailhead. Started up in a light misty rain. By the time we reached Whittenberg it cleared up nice except for a few low clouds above the Ashoken Res. Was treated to a beautiful view. Rested and had a bite to eat. Continued on to Cornell to finish up our 3500 club. The final ascent of Cornell was very difficult at the chimney climb. The rope that I was told would be there was gone. Two of the boy's climbed up and had to grab my hand and literally pull me up. Spent a short time at the summit of Cornell and returned the way we came, after a short rest at Whittenberg. Two boy's with me were doing a 10 mile hike toward their hiking merit badge.
