Ascent Trip Report

This was my third peak of three for the day. (I don't count a peak twice in the same day even though I had reached a peak twice). I had another big day of hiking planned for the next day so I needed to start down after this peak. I had started up the Forsee Creek Trail to San Bernardino East Peak. Traversed over to San Bernardino Peak before returning to San Bernardino East Peak.

The traverse from San Bernardino East Peak to Anderson Peak is straight forward. I took the divide trail until just past the junctions of both the South Fork Springs and Momyer Trail. I'm surprised that a maintained trail hasn't been put in to this peak; especially to minimize the impacts of all the XC'ers. I signed the register.

For the descent, I took a direct XC route to South Fork Springs to refuel/rewater prior to continuing down to the Forsee Creek Trailhead. I learned a new lesson on the descent. I always keep my toe nails trimmed back. I forgot before this trip and paid the price. The constant large vertical loss descent (pounding) heavily bruised three toes on each foot. Time will tell if I lose some nails.
