Ascent Trip Report

Drove past Pine Bend Brook Trail trailhead since there was no parking lot, and it just looked like part of the plowed road. Was concerned at first that the trail was not broken out since all I could see was the 6 foot snowbank. But it was broken out. Mostly flat until entering an amphitheater like area, then it went up steeply. Had to switch over from microspikes to snowshoes part way up the steep slope as the wind had obscured that part of the trail. Along the Scaur Trail, could see the Slide Trail through the trees. At some trail signs, the snow depth was to the bottom of the signs. A confusing trail intersection that was not on the maps made me pause, but on the way back down, and talking with 2 people going up, it was thought the other trail might lead to The Fool Killer. I decided to turn around and check it out, but turns out, it just dead ended a 100 feet down.
