Ascent Trip ReportFound trail head (7:15 am) east of Rocky Cyn creek at Hwy 50, 50 to 100 feet. Marked by blue paint "PP (arrow)" and "59.00" road marker. Path well worn and very easy to follow. Steep and dusty to break in initial slope (45 minutes to ascend). Crosses Rocky Ck from east to west side, and continues up shallow cyn to ridge off NW corner of Pyr. Pk., to base of peak. Trail climbs soil and juniper base to broken rock of peak. Keep slightly left ascending broken,loose rock as large as small car. At summit (<3 hrs) are two USGS badges, and a stone pile marking the highest point. Numerous wind breaks have been constructed. Nice cirque and remnant snow patch on west side of peak. Very breezy, from the west, at late morning. No other hikers.
