Ascent Trip ReportGreat trip. We Stated out about 1:00 or so from the Monroe Trail. We followed that with our packs to the Dean. Dropped our stuff off and set up camp and the Hump Brook tenting site. Then set off about 3:00 p.m. to do the loop up to the summit. We took a small detour to check out the closest shelter South on the long trail. Then took the long trail all the way to the top. Unfortunately, we didn't bring enough water for the ascent, so we were extremely thirsty by the time we summited. Right about sunset. Only four other hikers at the top when we got there. Pretty windy and cool at the top. We only stayed for about 20 minutes snapping pictures and relaxing to enjoy the view. We then headed straight down the Monrow Trail back to camp. It turned dark about half way there. We quickly got back, cooked some dogs over the fire, and went to bed. Started raining on our way back to the car. Overall a great trip!
