Ascent Trip Report

My second ascent of this great peak, first time leading. The way up was a little longer due to two minor issues- first we had a straggler get too far behind at the beginning and miss the first turn (off the dirt road), so I went back to retrieve him. The next "extra" was when we overshot the place past the traverse where we head up to the ridge. Surprisingly the route appeared less well cairned than when I last was here, a few years ago.

The one other place where we had a route-finding challenge was the steep section around 5000' where some climbing is involved- the route (climb) shifts a bit to the left (west) of the route when the route hits the wall. For this section, a rope or webbing may be helpful for the descent as the footholds are hard to see from above.
