Ascent Trip Report

Waumbek
This is an unusual day for us to go hiking (Wednesday), but I had today off from school and the weather was pretty good so Dad took the day off and we header here to Mt. Waumbek.
We headed up the Starr King Trail at 10:40am. The trail is just covered in the newly fallen leaves, kinda like the yellow brick road, but much more colorful (and louder). We reached Starr King at 12:20am, no views along the way but it is still a nice day for a hike!
We reached the summit of Mt. Waumbek at 12:50pm, but since there are no views at the summit, we went a bit further to an open area where we sat down to have lunch. The view across the valley to the Northern Presidentials is quite different than what we normally get to see on our hikes. After relaxing and having lunch we headed back down at 1:15pm. We got back to the car at 2:50pm.
