Ascent Trip ReportDrove up a zig-zag road to get to the church and took the short route up to the large monument. We then took the unofficial route down the hill and walked along Ullswater Lake. Cathy was desperate for a cream tea, and being eagled eyed had already spotted the ideal place. We got back to the car a little later than expected, so tension was rising as to whether or not we would get there in time. Luckily for me(!) we did and we spent a pleasant hour sipping tea in the garden of an old fashioned hotel looking back at Hallin Fell watching the escapades of two young walkers who decided to take an interesting route down.
