Ascent Trip ReportRose and I are on a 7 week sightseeing/driving tour of "USA/MEXICO 1999", taking in USA State's Highpoints where possible, prior to today we took in AK, KA and OK. Today is our 9th day of our trip.
We overnighted here last night, at the Guadalupe National Park Campground, so this morning we got an early start. We took the well-graded, moderate, Guadalupe Peak trail to the summit for our 31st State Highpoint..... arriving after 2 1/2 hours in very windy conditions, full/open panorama, didn't stay around too long. Saw 2 mule deers on the way up.
Back to the Campground and Rose in 4 1/2 hours.
From here we will cross into Mexico and make our way down to Manzanillo, Colima, to visit my Mom and Dad for 2-3 weeks before moving on.
