Ascent Trip Report

Carvers gap at Roan Mtn, with its surrounding high peaks especially the Balds, has to be one of the most beautifull destination that one can find in mid/end of June. The rhododendrons in full bloom are spectacular, its colour spread thruout the open Balds like a colourfull painted garden. A must place to visit in mid/end of June. Its full of people.

From Carvers gap we drove up to the Roan High Bluff parking and hiked the maintained ridge trail to the Roan High Bluff summit,a rock outcrop behind the lookout platform.
Rose dropped me off just before Roan High Knob and continued on down to Carvers gap......... I picked up the AT nb, spur trail to summit of Roan High Knob short distance from shelter, back to AT nb down to Carvers gap and on to Round Bald/Jane Bald/Grassy Ridge Bald and back to Carvers gap on AT sb ....... a superb day in the mountains.
