|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8839 ft / 2694 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAs mentioned in previous reports, the road is open to the end, and there are no signs, much less fences, indicating anything is off-limits. Further their are more cairns and a better use trail than many active DPS peaks, so I'm really surprised that it's "suspended" from the DPS list.
For the initial climb up the first slope, many people have cut the switchbacks making the best route hard to follow. If you take a line that's too steep, the rocks and dirt will slide out from under you.
As with the prior party, we headed up the ridge containing peak 8328'. Once at the main ridge (on the far side of 8328') the slope moderated and the terrain became quite nice - great way to end the ascent!
At the very top there was a bit of easy class 3 scrambling to reach the very summit. At the summit, there was a register as well as great views of some airstrips on the military base.
I uncharacteristically forgot my GPS, so my numbers are estimated.
