Ascent Trip Report

This must be the most "man-made ugly" mountain in the Northeast! There are many rusting cylindrical structures and other buildings at the summit from an old radar installation, and more similar buildings halfway up from the bottom. Too bad, since the views of the surrounding mountains are great! The compensation is a mostly-paved road that is open for walkers all the way to the top. I encountered a young moose resting at the side of the gravel road while I was driving down from the gate that blocks vehicles from going further up the mountain.
