Ascent Trip ReportThis was another awesome one-day ascent of Whitney - we started the trail at 2 AM, enjoyed the annual meteor shower during breaks (although it appeared weaker this year than in prior years), summitted by mid-day, and were back down before dark. I had forgotten about the elevation loss (and subsequent regain) after trail crest, and that was a little disheartening, but the trail beyond that was the easy part of the day. Also, this time, the weather/air quality was perfect - 100 miles visibility if not more!
