Ascent Trip ReportThis combo ascent of Bierstadt and Evans was tougher than Gerry Roach made it sound in Colorado's Fourteeners. At 9:45 we left the truck at a switchback at 13,300' and descended down a steep scree-filled gully to a little lake at 12,360'. Then it was a steep climb up to the top of Bierstadt's east ridge (13,100'). After a couple of miles of scrambling over some rugged terrain (including getting to the top of Point 13,641') we were at the top of Bierstadt at 1:00.
