Ascent Trip Report

14 minutes--Mink Hollow/Devil's Path Junction
1:15--Indian Head
1:35--Mink Hollow/Devil's Path Junction
2 hours--Sugarloaf
2:20--Mink Hollow/Devil's Path Junction
2:30--Mink Hollow Road out of Elka Park TH

Made trail the whole way up. When you get to the end of Mink Hollow Road out of Elka Park you will see a red diamond sign at the end and two big rocks on the wooded road to keep cars off. Follow the old woods road up to the notch. There are some other "roads" the branch off to the right but say to the left. Around 11 minutes in you will see a campsite directly in front of you. Turn right before entering the sight and you will see a sign for the spring and yellow markers appear. Turn right here unless you need water. You will very quickly see the junction and lean-to between Sugarloaf and Plateau. Both mountains are on Devil's Path (red markers) and are steep and icy in the winter.

I hiked this looking to have summated all the Catskill high peaks and have summated 100 different peaks this year. I did it! This was number 100!! Finishing with 101 different mountain summits and 115 season all summits (14 of the mountains I did twice this year but in a different season). My 13th Catskill 3500 winter summit.

12.5 miles total on this day using two trail heads to knock out the core four eastern Devil's Path peaks.
