Ascent Trip ReportI drove up the road to a nice parking spot with a fire ring just before the locked gate at elevation 4550'. They are building a heliport near the summit; so heavy equipment has been up and down the road lately. If the gate were not locked, a high clearance would get you to the top. Cold and windy at the top with some dark clouds. About 5.4 miles round trip with close to 1,800' elevation gain. The guys on the construction crew said they have come across a feral bull out there a couple times down by the mining claim when they were in their truck, but not along the road. The mining claim is active and there are gates and open pits.
