Ascent Trip Report

Today was a day to remember, I got up late in the morning and missed my first class, my next class wasn't until 3:30 so I took a look at the map and I originally wanted to do Mt. dickey but I wanted something bigger. I set off to Tecumseh and ended up at Waterville parking lot asking for directions (because last time I did the ski trail, which I don't think you can do anymore). I found the trailhead and started my track, from the bottom it already had snow and ice so I didn't want to take many chances. I bought the new micro spikes and put them to the test. My review: worth every penny! No slip issues and completely comfortable. The map said it takes 3 hers for the 5 mile round trip, I did it in 2 1/2 round trip in the winter.... mainly because I remembered I had a quiz in my class (had to basically run down the peak) the trail was super flat until it crossed the second crossing. It began to gain elevation from there (id say about a 1 1/2 but again it was gradual, more gain towards the summit. You had a nice side lookout to the peak for most of the peak which was nice, it was short and a great woodsy walk. Its a great maintained trip that hugs the ski trails for the most part and has a 180 degree view at the top which looks at the tripyramids and the Osceola's overall I believe that this is a great mountain and easy. My view in the summer anyone can do this peak but winter can be a bit strenuous I'd consider it to be low/mid level for what I've done. Steep in some spots but manageable with time and the right precautions. Loved it, great hike!
