Ascent of Mount Oxford on 2001-08-12| Others in Party: | Trisha Conlon | | Date: | Sunday, August 12, 2001 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Peak: | Mount Oxford | | Location: | USA-Colorado | | Elevation: | 14153 ft / 4313 m |
Ascent Trip ReportAfter climbing Belford, Trisha and I descended to the saddle and did a quick ascent of Oxford. Unfortunately, my wife, Suzanne, started feeling nauseous and stayed behind at the saddle, making Oxford "unfinished business" for her. We ran (literally) back down off the summit, as showers seemed to be imminent, and they soon materialized. We made it back to our camp high in Missouri Gulch just in time to wait out the rain before heading back down the trail. Fourteener #3 for Trisha, a nice repeat for me.
