Ascent Trip ReportThis was a simple hike/climb via the standard SE ridge route. The route was almost entirely snow-free. We took crampons, but never used them. We only used our ice axes to glissade on the way down. We left the Matterhorn Creek TH just about sunrise (5:45 MDT) and got to the summit at five minutes to ten. Glorious weather in the morning, but rain was moving in by noon. Spent 50 min. on the summit. We got back to the TH just before it hit--1:35 pm. 7.15 miles, about 3,400 ft. vertical. A fabulous summit. Fourteener #35 for me, #32 for Trisha.
