Ascent Trip Report

I wasn't planning on climbing this peak, in fact it is not marked, but upon reaching Mulkey Pass after bagging Trail Peak, I decided to check out the highpoint displayed on my GPS immediately east of the pass. An easy walk-up took me to a fairly imposing summit block. After circling it for a bit looking for the easiest way up, I picked a class 2-3 route with an exciting squeeze through a crack right below the highest point. From the top, there are good views of Muah Mountain, Trail Peak, two unnamed higher peaks to the east, and Mt. Langley. USGS topo shows an elevation of 10,605 ft at the top of this summit, though my GPS had 10,650 ft. There was no register or any kind of benchmark. I descended straight toward the trail coming to Mulkey Pass from Horseshoe Meadows, followed that trail down into the meadows, then crossed straight across to return to the trailhead.
