Ascent Trip ReportAbsolutely marvelous trip, and my first 14er. Took the New Army Pass up from Upper South Fork lake (where we camped) and headed off to the SW slope. There are lots of interesting options when you get to the SW slope. You can pick your way through the boulder field, or if you like, you can just climb up and over. We had a fairly easy route on the way up, staying on the SW shoulder of the peak. On the way down, we shortcutted down a more southerly line. Total from summit to camp was about 5 1/2 miles, then seven miles back to the trail head. Can't wait to do this one in the winter.
