Ascent Trip ReportAfter being chased off the ridge mid-way to South Schell the day before, we got an early start (6:30 a.m.) and made it easily up South Schell by ascending up through a drainage and eventually up a steep slope with good footing to a spot above the saddle found at approximately 11,100', then walked up the summit ridge to the summit itself. No register was to be found there. After a brief summit celebration (Susan's 50th LVMC peak!), the rest of the party started descending while I went on to climb Peak 3460. By the time I got there the clouds were coming in low and thick and I was able to get down into the drainage before the rain started. No lightning today, but there was considerable rain after four o'clock. I only experienced some light rain, returning to the cars before two o'clock.
