Ascent Trip ReportMap of old road from Whispering Pines to Cobb Mtn
The hike up the old road is a nice pleasant grade. Once at the top follow the map using the well used roads until you find the steep utility pole road that descends from Cobb. Once at the bottom work your way cross-country to the summit.
The summit marker is somewhat hidden and guarded by Manzanita. We searched and searched and finally stumbled upon it just as we were about to abandon it.
38.80237N 122.74756W are coords I took at marker.
Looking at Google Maps it looks spot on. (http://goo.gl/maps/3BcXl) All the grey vegetation is thick manzanita. I strongly recommend taking a GPS receiver to find this and work your way around the manzanita. You can not go through it. Have fun!
