Ascent Trip Report

I hiked South Carter Mountain after descending Carter Mountain.

From Zeta Pass, I hiked north on the Carter-Moriah Trail, which started out easy and then the grade increased. On the way, I met two thru-hikers heading north; we chatted for a bit and met again on South Carter's summit. Right below the top, there was a very steep section. The top was wooded but had a small cairn. I rested here for a few minutes and then headed to Middle Carter.
