Ascent Trip ReportHeaded up the North Twin trail on 2013-07-25 to bag North and South Twin. Kaity and Lily (her dog) tagged along.
Left trailhead at 9:13 AM
Arrived at South Twin at 12:10 PM
Back at beginning of trailhead at 4:07 PM
We took North Twin Trail off Rt 304 (which is off Rt 3, right before the White Mountain National Forest sign). It is a moderate hike with not much elevation change until the last mile or so for the summit of North Twin. Once on the ridge there are few views. The North Twin summit itself doesn’t have one, but a small (maybe 200 feet?) trail leads off to the left and offers a sight or two.
It’s not a long hike to South Twin from there, maybe thirty or forty minutes. South Twin holds much better views then it’s Northern brother; looking down at the valley between it, Hale and Zealand.
