Ascent Trip ReportHorror stories had scared us off from this peak for a while, but it was finally time to buckle down and climb it. The first leg of the trip up the Rocky Branch Trail has a little bit of an ascent, followed by a descent into the valley to the Rocky Branch #2 shelter with a stream running down the middle of the trail. The next leg up the Davis Path junction crisscrosses the Rocky Branch 5 times. In the middle of the summer, the water was plenty low enough to simply rock hop these crossings. There was just an easy jaunt left to hop up to the summit. There were incredible views from the summit. It's bald, and gives you a very unique angle on Mount Washington. The hike back out was more of the same as the hike in, just a long, tedious nature walk along some streams.
