Ascent Trip Report

We took forest road 469, which was a mess due to the recent rains. A 4x4 was required over the muddy sections, high clearance alone wouldn't have cut it, and would probably get bogged down, miles from anywhere that there might be assistance. We started up the north ridge line, which undulates somewhat before hitting the exceptionally steep final slope. Clouds were building and covered over the mountain by the time we got back to the cars, with light rain beginning to fall. This was an Las Vegas Mountaineers Club outing to celebrate Eric's 50th peak on our club's list. Three of us went on to camp at Wheeler Peak camp ground, while others headed off to Indian Peak in Utah.
