Ascent Trip ReportGot an early start; went up Falling Waters trail to Franconia Ridge then down to the Greenleaf hut for a short visit, then down Old Bridle Path back to the start. This was the best weather I've ever hiked in - especially about tree line - and was fortunate enough to do this superb hike. I only saw one person on the trail - heading down Falling Waters - until I was almost at the Greenleaf hut. I had the entire ridge to myself. The weather was spectacular with mostly clear skies, almost no wind, and almost perfect hiking temperature. There was almost a full moon over Cannon most of the morning. All the views were great only being marred by some haze. Once I left the Greenleaf hut I really started running into the crowds. I was surprised at how beautiful the descent was from the hut. Great views of the entire face of the ridge and the sun was cooperating lighting up the shimmering ledges brilliantly.
