Ascent Trip Report

Finished the 6ers with Ampersand, my first peak list completion. Ampersand is probably the nicest trail and summit of the six, as I had already heard. At least 5 of the 6 are definitely worth climbing for the views (not sure about Scarface). Anyway, Saranac Lake has been doing a good job promoting the 6ers and it seems locals and others are really embracing the concept. For myself, I am glad to have taken the time to discover this area. Officially I am 6er number 76.

It was overcast and windy today on the summit, but clear enough to get some decent pictures and a good impression of what a great summit it is. Rain really kicked in when we were about half way down, happily we were already past the steepest parts. I would definitely like to do this one again but in nice weather and take more time on the summit.
