Ascent Trip Report

Left home at 4:30am. 2+ hours to get to the trailhead. Started hiking at 7:00. Signed trail register a short distance up the trail. Reached the summit in about 2.5 hours. Sweating profusely. This is a pretty strenuous climb on a warm day. The summit is a huge boulder in the trail with a small cairn built on top. Nice view to the right on a side trail just before the boulder. Off to Table mtn. This was a pretty quick down and up to Table. It took about 30 min. The summit is just a small cairn on the right side of the trail. Another nice view to the west just past the summit on a side trail to the left. The trip back down was a nice hike in the woods which I enjoyed. In the end, it was 3 hrs to the summit of Table, and 2 hrs. back to the parking lot. I cooled my feet off in the ice cold water in the stream that is across the street from the parking lot, then drove about a mile east to another parking lot with the Buttermilk falls just a few steps from the parking lot, and cooled my feet off some more. Took a few pictures and headed home. Nice day!
