Ascent Trip Report

Mt Jefferson was the 1st peak during my Independence Day climbing trip to Nevada. NF road 010 was rather rough and I do recommend high clearance if not 4 wheel drive. Surprisingly, I was alone and had far away thunderstorms as 4th of July fireworks. The hike was easy except for the heat. The most interesting feature was the mighty Mt Wheeler rising far east. Clouds to the west didnt permit me to see the Sierra Nevada. I think that I might return in winter to have further views.
