Ascent Trip Report

We headed up the rest of the Avalon Trail after summitting Mt. Avalon. It was muddy in spots in the col between Avalon and Field, and after that, it had a moderate to steep grade, but soon eased and intersected with the Willey Range Trail. The summit of Field was 100 yds to the south on that trail.

Field's summit was mostly wooded and marked with a cairn, although it did have a few good viewpoints. I could see past the Presidential Range and to the Bonds. We ate lunch and hung out for about twenty minutes and then headed back down, paying a visit to spectacular Beecher and Pearl Cascades on the way.
