Ascent Trip Report

Distance: 15.0 miles Elevation gain/loss: 4906 ft / 4857 ft Moving time: 5:29 Moving speed: 2.7 mph

Started at Islip saddle and ascended on the PCT, passing Jimmy campground before veering off on use trail at Windy Gap to peak #1 Mt. Islip (8250 ft). Continued on PCT to the next ridgeline running south and went over to peak #2 Middle Hawkins (8505 ft). Returned to the PCT heading NE and took use trail up to peak #3 Mt. Hawkins (8850 ft). Continuing we saved some distance by going right up and over ridgeline use trail to peak #4 Throop Peak (9138 ft).
We used the same approach by leaving the PCT to follow the ridge straight up to peak #5 Mt. Burnham (8997 ft). Finally we followed the remaining ridgeline up to the summit of peak #6 Mt. Baden Powell (9399 ft) before taking the 40+ swithcbacks down to Vincent Gap. Outstanding views all the way on this peakbagging hike on both sides of the ridge. Beautiful day!
